Great game, lots of things to do, good Community. Takes a bit to really get the full scope and build up a "Strong" Character, but it is worth it.

A very good, Browser-based SciFi MMORPG. I started playing 7 years ago, and haven't looked back. I like that every day, you get 5000 APs (Action Points), although it is possible to increase your daily AP total. Presently, I'm in charge of a player-owned Starbase, in the southern galaxy. That's time, and AP, consuming, so I haven't really gotten into P2P very much, but overall I would highly recommend this Space-based game to anyone.

Altough I only just started out, I believe there are months of exploring, new encounters and an unknown galaxy waiting for me. Later, if keep playing, a premium account will be necessary to unlock the center of the galaxy, but thats a longshot from now, because judging from the manual my small Trade ship would be destroyed by the harsh environment there pretty quickly. After having played Travian for months and never sleeping well, thank god I found this alternative. A limited quota of moves per day makes you think and plan ahead instead of wasting your Real-Life waiting for an attack and stupidly upgrading dozens of villages as in Travian.

I've played Pardus for more than 2 years now, and it still amazes me. This is probably the one and only browser game I'll ever pay for.
There will always be disgrunteled people who thinks they've been mistreated, but during my 2 years with Pardus, I've never had one single problem. I have over 6 million AP's played over three universes, yet I'm not among the top 100 players by a longshot. I've helped newbies get going and watched them surpass me in a matter of a few months. I'm still playing with the same enthusiasm. I've started up alliances, I've been in wars, I've explored most of the universe, still there are unknowns to me. The community consists mainly of slightly older people, college and up, but ofcourse there are young 'uns as well. This makes for a mature and intelligent community, who doesn't necessarily put their own prestige over helping nubs get going.

If you want a challenge and a great playing experience, try it out. Give it a fair chance, as the beginning can be quite confusing and boring. One month into the game and you're sold.

The course you can go is entirely your own choice, wether it be bucaneer or bounty hunter, trader or fighter, pirate or mercenary. You decide.

If you try it out, after you pass the tutorial, find me and I'll give you 100k creds for free =) Just an incentive ;)

Excelent game. Some people dislike it and have problems at the begining. And those that are not accepting fact that you cannot be a powergamer after few month of gameplay are just silly. Dont expect to create big alliances and rule galaxy without much effort and time spent. This game need whole loads of patience and hard work but it is really worth of it!! Many bans are caused by fact that they have not understood rules. This game requires inteligence and planning. And for those that say that Premium is so good...it is not...besides at the begining of Pardus Premium was voluntary contributions after some time Mods have added few (i underline FEW) features.
What is the best in this game? You play not to win or be the best but just to play.

Pros:
- great gameplay early on,
- community helps a lot,
- little to now crappy grammar and pesky teenagers using CAPS all the time

Cons:
- as you progress, you enter the real candy of Pardus - diplomacy; and as soon as you begin to enjoy the ability of creating big alliances and conducting big military/trading operations, you find the glass ceiling - devs/mods favour a small group of establish players, who enjoy tremendous advantage of not being persecuted for rule-breaking
- some of the mods have trouble acting impartially - one can feel that mod has bad day because of harsh words
- quite a bit of propaganda concerning devs - a group of pilots "worships" them as infallible, and any voice of dissent is quashed/ridiculed/ignored

All-in-all: if you are in for a piece of good mechanics and solid powergaming, Pardus is for you. If you want to engage in interpersonal relations and take part in diplomatic field, good luck. Save yourself a lot of frustration and pick something different.

The gameplay itself is pretty good and addictive, even though it could be made better with a few minor changes. The way of limiting player activity is working well, if you pay for a "premium" account, you'll mostly be level with everybody else, unless you don't have even half an hour during a day for this. However, the administration of the game ruins it; rules are not enforced equally and impartially, dissenting opinions are typically awarded with bans and the administrators don't pay serious attention to the issues raised by players, even when they are significant and highly detrimental to the game. All in all, if you believe that you should be able to voice your opinion (politely) even if it does not agree with somebody else's, give this game a wide berth; if you're just looking for a quick scoop for ideas, go right ahead.

Wonderful experience among the MMORPGs. Mature community, developed environment for both trader- and fighter-loving players, lot of RPG activity on forum an chat.
Plus you can meet valuable friends in the off-character section - many educated people play pardus, not only teenagers.

This game is the most fun game I have ever played and am still able to keep my real life schedule reasonable. Pardus has the most intelligent community in any online game I have ever played, and I have played a lot. This game requires a lot of skill and has severe penalties if you make stupid mistakes so a lot of noobish players are turned off from it. This leaves a very skilled and intelligent playerbase that delights in Roleplaying in their characters.

I love the game design because it rewards efficient decision making and getting ahead isn't about who can powergame the most. Making friends and building a reputation can make you more powerful than playing non-stop and getting no sleep like in other games.

You will see some bad reviews for Pardus on every single game listing site because a few disgruntled players who got banned for rule violations, like they should, like to bash the game. If anyone in their review says they got banned for cheating, then completely ignore their review.
